$6k for 60km at 60

Donation Individual

At the end of October, I will reach that magical milestone of middle-age, 60, more or less intact. Whilst my running and multisport days are but a distant memory, I am fortunate to still be able to keep active and healthy. This is not the case with so many of Israel’s injured and wounded soldiers, so I will be using this opportunity to raise much needed funds for Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization (ZDVO).

My goal is to walk 60km in one day this month, from Bondi to Spit Bridge (The 60km mark on the Bondi to Manly Walk), and to raise at least $6,000 for ZDVO. This will go towards the maintenance of basketball wheelchairs, which is urgently needed at Beit Halochem Jerusalem. The total project cost is over $10,000, so hopefully our contributions will make a big dent in that.

ZDVO Beit Halochem Australia’s number one priority is to support the care and rehabilitation of Israel’s 50,000 injured soldiers, victims of terror and their families. Funds raised help them regain the dignity and quality of life they deserve and sport plays a large part of this. Many of the Israeli team who competed in the recent Paralympics would not have been able to do so without the support of ZDVO.

Thank you in advance for your support!
