The ZDVO Beit Halochem Australia held a very successful awareness and fundraising campaign in Sydney and Melbourne in February 2015. Both communities were inspired by ZDVO’s guest speakers, two young Israeli soldiers recently injured whilst fighting to protect the State of Israel. Ran and Shimon each told their miraculous stories of survival to hundreds of people of all ages.

Israel and the Hamas terrorist group agreed on Monday to an Egyptian-proposed ceasefire to end four weeks of war in Operation Protective Edge. Israel and the Jewish World mourn the death of the 64 IDF soldiers who bravely fought to protect the citizens of the State of Israel. In addition, 3 Israeli civilians lost their lives. Prime Minister of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu spoke after the ceasefire and reiterated his government's commitment to protect its citizens as well as his sorrow in the loss of lives of innocent people caught up in the conflict.
Israel has begun a ground offensive into Gaza after Hamas rejected cease-fire proposals.The aim: to root out the source of rocket attacks and terrorist tunnels. Israel has the right to defend itself and an obligation to protect its citizens.... More than 48,000 IDF reservists have now been called up for Operation Protective Edge. The offensive is taking place by land, sea and air.
